The greenest trash bag

  • 2020/ TEHRAN

In this powerful and thought-provoking play, a plastic trash bag takes center stage as the protagonist. In its desperate quest to end its existence, the bag faces numerous struggles. It attempts to drown in water, bury itself in the ground, and even be consumed by animals, but it cannot disappear. When burned, it pollutes the air; when discarded, its harmful polymer composition prevents recycling. Despite its relentless efforts, the trash bag remains indestructible.

Ultimately, it surrenders to the wind, becoming a carrier of an urgent message: “Don’t use me.”

Through the innovative technique of object theatre and the creative repurposing of discarded materials, this performance sheds light on the enduring environmental impact of plastic waste. It delivers a compelling narrative about the unyielding persistence of pollution and the need for sustainable change.
